Sick Notes:
GPs will only issue statutory certificates for absences of more than 7
days. GPs are entitled to make a charge for sick certificates of less

Patients Obligations:
We hope we have a good patient / practice relationship by recognising
our obligations to each other.
The practice for its part, undertakes to provide you with healthcare services
that are delivered in a professional and patient friendly manner - taking
note of your individual needs.
For your part you can assist the practice by:
1. Arriving on time for appointments.
2. Giving as much notice as possible if an appointment cannot be
kept.
3. Having consideration for consultations that overrun - our GPs
cannot always predict in advance that some patient's needs will require
slightly longer than normal.
4. Not expecting your doctor to deal with more than one consultation
per appointment. If you want to see a doctor and wish your child / children
to be seen at the same time, please book the required number, one per
person.
5. Ordering repeat prescriptions in good time (ie at least 2 days
before the prescription runs out)
6. Remaining polite and courteous and understanding of the busy
nature of the practice.
7. Not expecting unnecessary home visits. We are set up to give
our best care at the surgery.
Violence / Abuse
All North Lincolnshire GP practices operate a zero tolerance initiative
to violence or abuse in any shape or form. This practice belies that such
behaviour is intolerable. Staff and other patients should not have to
suffer threats, intimidation, loud abusive language, violence or threats
of violence.
Persons guilty of such behaviour will be asked to leave the practice premises
immediately and, as a result of such an incident, the practice will:
1. Inform the police of the incident
2. Ask the PCT to remove the patient from the practice list immediately
The practice will not allow a small number of individuals to disrupt its
daily routine.
RIVERSIDE SURGERY PATIENT PARTICIPATION GROUP
Riverside Surgery has a Patient Participation Group (PPG), which
meets once every quarter. The group is made up of doctors, staff and patients
and its aims are as follows:
1. To be an advisory group aimed at improving communication between
the practice and its patients.
2. To improve cooperation and collaboration.
3. Influence practice policy.
4. Act as a repesentative group to influence the local provision
of health and social care.
5. To provide innovative and new ideas.
6. Provide feedback.
7. Communicate and inform.
8. Health education.
